Giti Caravan Supports Open Door Society’s Job Fair in Saskatoon
Twice a year, over 30 companies successfully connect with job seekers with the intent of diversifying their workforce by recruiting global talent. All the Employment Services staff of Saskatoon Open Door Society is onsite to provide guidance.
In her interview with CBC News, Psychotherapist Giti Caravan, owner of Caravan Counselling said that based on her more than 30 years experience in clinical psychology and educational psychology, newcomers need mental health support during their move to Canada, and for several years afterward, while they put down roots.
Effectively meeting the mental health needs of new immigrants who are looking for employment poses challenges due to language and cultural differences in addition to stressors associated with migration.
